Bonjour from France!

Bonjour! Jim and I have bid adieu to Croatia and will be spending the next 3 months in France as housesitters. It was a very scenic plane ride as we skirted the Mediterranean coast to Marseille.

We were greeted at the airport by the witty and charming Monsieur R ("M R"), the homeowner. He and Jim quickly took bonded over their distaste for cold and rainy weather in Old and New England, respectively.

About 30 minutes later we arrived at the spectacular rental home that we'll be caring for this summer. It's located in the countryside, about 10 miles from Aix-en-Provence. Here we met M R's vibrant wife, Madame R ("Mme R"), and their bouncy, happy-go-lucky spaniel, Hermes.
Our new French friend, Hermes
We enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio as we got to know one another:

Then retired to our apartment with a nice bottle of rosé:

It sure was a rough day of traveling! I think we're going to like it here. À bientôt!

Oh my goodness, I totally walked through that neighbourhood in Zadar that you said was your favorite, and I was staying not far from that punk concert camp thing too (I wasn't quite in Diklo yet but the neighborhood right before it, unfortunately I forgot the name and I'm too lazy to look it up right now :)
But we were probably there at the same time, I have pictures in all the same places as you too. It's pretty cool :)
Why were you two in Zadar? just visiting, holiday, do you travel all the time?
Where are you originally from?
I hope you have a beautiful time in France!!
(sorry I asked like a bagillion questions :)

We must have been there at the same time! I'm sure that we even passed each other on the street! I love that you got a picture of the underwear display at Intimissi -- did you see the one with the tail on the back?! I took a photo but never ended up working it into a post. And where did you find a Starbucks??? I am also so glad that you're doing posts on Croatian fashion because I was completely fascinated by the sheer number of track pants and skinny jeans/converse! :-D

We left the States (Phoenix, AZ) in May to start traveling long-term. Zadar was our first stop! Now we are housesitting in France for the summer. Then, this fall we head to South Africa.... Where do you live in Europe?
I really envy the writer that he is going to have a really good time in the next three months at this recreational place. The changing of the environment is quite necessary for making the mind relaxed and fresh.

France, in Western Europe, encompasses medieval cities, alpine villages and Mediterranean beaches. Paris, its capital, is famed for its fashion houses, classical art museums including the Louvre and monuments like the Eiffel Tower.
